Yearly Highlights
Catholic Schools Week
Kicks off with a Mass and Open House on the last Sunday in January, this week-long celebration highlights our school with events like Spirit Day,Theme Day (each classroom comes up with a theme and dresses accordingly), pep rallies, and eat lunch with your child day. The week concludes with inviting grandparents, or special adult, for mass and breakfast, then early dismissal.
Science Fair
Held each year in the gym during Catholic Schools Week. Grades K-3 are assigned a project relating to science, and teachers send home all pertinent information well in advance. Fourth grade introduces students to the scientific method with a grade level competition, and several weeks are spent planning. Grades 6-8 compete in the school Science Fair; winners go on to compete in the Archdiocesan Science Fair hosted by OLPH.
Earth Day
A school-wide celebration. Students create projects following the year’s ecological theme and display them in the gym. Eigth-graders develop activities and a presentation to teach the younger students more about the theme. Guidelines for the projects are sent home by classroom teachers, and projects count as a Science grade.
Spelling Bee
